Privacy Policy

Last updated 15 September 2026

Arity is a desktop diagram tool published by Mikademy. Your diagrams are files on your own machine and never reach us. This policy covers the small number of things that do: a language cookie on this website, two startup checks made by the app, and the order details our payment provider holds.

Who is responsible

Mikademy publishes Arity and is the data controller for everything described here. You can reach us at the address at the bottom of this page.

Payments are taken by Creem (Armitage Labs OÜ, Estonia), which acts as the merchant of record for the desktop licence. They are a separate controller for the payment and billing data they collect; their own privacy policy governs it.

This website

The site is a set of static files. There is no analytics, no advertising pixel and no third-party tracker of any kind - nothing on the page reports back that you read it.

Two things are nonetheless recorded:

  • A cookie named arity_lang, set only when you use the language toggle. It stores the word "en" or "vi" and nothing else, and its only job is to stop the server guessing your language again on the next visit.
  • Ordinary web-server logs: your IP address, the page requested, the time, and your browser's user-agent string. They exist to serve the right language and to spot abuse, and they are discarded within 30 days.

The desktop app

Your diagrams, your folders and your file names stay on your disk. The app has no account, no sync and no telemetry: it never uploads a diagram, and it cannot, because there is nowhere for one to go.

It makes two network calls, both at startup:

  • An update check to api.getarity.app, sending your operating system, your processor architecture and the version you are running - the three things needed to answer whether a newer build exists.
  • A licence check, sending your licence key and a label for the device. The label is the word "Arity" plus your computer's own name, so that you can tell your machines apart when you release a seat. No file, document title or personal name is ever part of it.

Buying a licence

Checkout happens on Creem's pages, not ours. They collect your email address, your payment details and the billing country they need for tax, and they send you the licence key. We never see or store your card number.

What reaches us is the order: your email address, which country the sale was taxed in, and the licence key issued. We use the address to deliver the key and to answer you if you write to us - never to market anything, and it is never sold or shared.

Arity for iPad

The iPad edition is sold by Apple through the App Store and unlocked by StoreKit. Apple handles that purchase and tells the app only whether this Apple Account owns the unlock; we receive no email address, no payment detail and no device identifier from it.

Who else sees anything

Only the three parties the product cannot work without:

  • Creem - payments, tax and licence-key delivery for the desktop app.
  • Apple - payments for the iPad app.
  • Google Cloud (Singapore) - where the website and the download service are hosted.

How long anything is kept

Server logs: 30 days. Order and licence records: as long as the licence is valid, plus the period Vietnamese tax law requires us to keep records of a sale. Support email: until the matter is closed and then a year, in case you write again about the same thing.

Your rights

Write to us and you can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, have it corrected, or have it deleted. Deleting the order record also ends the licence it proves, so we will say so before doing it. We answer within 30 days, and you do not need an account to ask - the email address you bought with is enough.

Children

Arity is a tool for work and study and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect anything from them.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. A change that affects what we collect will be announced in the app's release notes as well, not only here.
